Nate Richards, MD
Dr. Richards is co-founder of Alliance in Medicine. He graduated from Columbia University and completed his medical degree at the University of Utah School of Medicine. After completing a general surgery residency in Philadelphia, Dr. Richards completed an advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery fellowship in Washington D.C. Dr. Richards’ clinical practice specializes in cancers and dysfunctions of the stomach, diaphragm, biliary system, pancreas, small intestine, and abdominal wall. He is also passionate about leadership, continuous improvement, and organizational strategy, having completed online training through Harvard Business School and Intermountain Healthcare’s Advanced Training Program and Executive Development Program. Dr. Richards recently completed a four year term as the Senior Medical Director for Surgery for Intermountain Healthcare, overseeing over 800 physicians and guiding strategy, tactics, operations, and Physician and APP management across the organization. He is an adjunct assistant professor with the School of Medicine and Department of Surgery as well as a faculty member of the Center for Global Surgery at the University of Utah. Dr. Richards has extensive international experience and has provided and taught surgical care in the Philippines, Peru, Guatemala, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Ghana and Cambodia. He is married to Jenny Naylor Richards, and they have four children.
